When they gathered together in Galilee, Jesus told them, "The Son of Man is about to be delivered into the hands of men.

Matthew 17:9
As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus commanded them, "Do not tell anyone about this vision until the Son of Man has been raised from the dead."

Matthew 17:12
But I tell you that Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but have done to him whatever they wished. In the same way, the Son of Man will suffer at their hands."

Going on from there, they passed through Galilee. But Jesus did not want anyone to know,

And they were all astonished at the greatness of God. While everyone was marveling at all that Jesus was doing, He said to His disciples,

"Let these words sink into your ears: The Son of Man is about to be delivered into the hands of men."

But they did not understand this statement. It was veiled from them so that they could not comprehend it, and they were afraid to ask Him about it.

He is not here; He has risen! Remember how He told you while He was still in Galilee:
